The Scout Troop is jointly lead by Scott Howard, and caters for boys and girls aged 10½ to 14. The Troop size is approximately 20 young people and is normally organised into Patrols of four or five Scouts dependant upon numbers.

These Patrols are arranged to provide a range of Scouting experience so they can learn effectively from each other. Each troop has a Patrol Leader and Assistant leader who are responsible for the troops on Scout nights, and would be expected to make sure their Patrol are correctly uniformed and following instructions correctly.

Scouts are expected to be more independent than Cubs and their activities reflect this, and will cover practical skills such as the use of axes, and fire-lighting to more adventurous exploits such as bike rides and night hikes. Scouts will have a number of opportunities for activities away from the Scout Hut including the annual Scout Camp, where with the assistance of the Leaders, they are expected to pitch their own tents and cook their own food.

Scott is joined by a number of Assistant Scout Leaders who will bring their own individual skills and style to the Scouting experience – no two Scouts are the same, and neither are their Leaders! Scouts meet on Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:30.
